The first Mid-Coast Maine coral frag swap was held 3/26 through 3/27. It was the first TWO day frag swap held in Maine’s history. The event was organized by local fish store Corals Unlimited and supported by a number of small businesses throughout New England. The Swap had over 10 vendors who brought some of the best corals, fish and inverts in Maine.
The Mid-coast Maine Frag swap was held at the American Legion in Brunswick, ME. American Legion Post 20 was a great host and we hope to have many swaps in the future held at the location. Which we have already scheduled our Fall Frag Swap in October at this location. Check out the link for more details.
The event had over 200 people in attendance over the two days which made this swap a smashing success.

These vendors brought their “A Game” to the Maine Frag Swap, making it hard for visitors to find the right coral to bring home to their own reef tank. Which is very really a problem but it makes it really hard to find that perfect piece.

Softies, LPS and SPS corals were available at every turn.
The hardest part was keeping enough money in your pocket for the gas on the way home.
The goal of the swap wasn’t just about selling coral, or promoting business. It was a group of local businesses coming to together to build the hobby of reef keeping in Maine. We’ll continue to do that with the support of local hobbyist and local businesses. Together we can #reeflocal
